BNTET Visits a Customer in Indonesia to Better Understand Local Heating Needs

  News     |      2026-09-24 16:03

Good burner selection begins with a clear picture of the customer's process. Recently, the BNTET team visited a customer in Indonesia to discuss heating requirements, operating conditions and the practical questions that arise when industrial combustion equipment is selected for a specific site.

The visit was an opportunity to listen first. Brochures and model tables can describe a burner's rated range, but they cannot explain every detail of a customer's boiler, furnace, fuel supply or working routine. Speaking with the people who plan and operate the system helps our team understand which details need to be confirmed before a technical proposal can move forward.

Understanding the Application on Site

During the discussion, we focused on the equipment that needs heat, the expected load and the way that load changes during operation. A burner for a steam boiler may face different installation and control requirements from one used with a drying line or an industrial furnace. Even within the same application, the chamber, mounting arrangement and operating schedule can change the equipment choice.

We also discussed the available fuel and site utilities. For a gas-fired project, the type of gas and available supply pressure are essential inputs. For a liquid-fuel project, the fuel properties and any treatment or heating arrangement may need closer review. The customer and BNTET team can then compare these conditions with the intended burner configuration, rather than choosing solely by nominal power.

Listening to the Customer's Practical Questions

Customer visits also reveal the questions that matter after an equipment drawing has been approved. The conversation considered how the burner would connect to the host equipment, what control signals would be needed, how routine access would be arranged and what documentation would support installation and maintenance.

Where a question depends on measurements or a final equipment drawing, it should be recorded for engineering review. We do not treat a site discussion as a substitute for a completed design or for commissioning tests. Instead, the visit helps both sides agree on which data to exchange next and who needs to verify each interface.

Planning for Safe, Efficient Operation

Combustion performance depends on the complete system and its adjustment in service. The U.S. Department of Energy explains that too little combustion air can result in incomplete combustion, while excessive air increases heat lost with the exhaust gas. [1] These principles make the fuel supply, combustion chamber and air-to-fuel setup relevant throughout burner selection and commissioning.

For projects with emissions requirements, the applicable limits and measurement conditions should be identified early. A suitable burner configuration can then be discussed alongside the host equipment and site conditions. Any claimed result needs to be verified on the installed system under defined operating conditions.

Next Steps After the Visit

The immediate value of the Indonesia visit is a clearer basis for technical communication. To move a project forward, the customer can share equipment drawings, the required heat input and operating range, fuel specifications, utility conditions, control requirements and applicable emissions targets. BNTET can use that information to review model options, mounting details and the documentation needed for the next stage.

We thank the customer for welcoming our team and sharing their application needs. BNTET looks forward to continuing the discussion and providing practical engineering support as the project details are confirmed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What information should I prepare before discussing a burner project?
Share the heat generator type, rated and minimum load, fuel type and supply conditions, chamber dimensions, installation drawings, power supply and control requirements.

Can a burner be selected by power rating alone?
No. The operating range, fuel supply, chamber back pressure, mounting and control interfaces must also be reviewed.

Why is a site visit helpful?
It helps the teams understand actual installation constraints and operating routines, and identify which drawings and measurements still need confirmation.
